So hard to believe we are already at 31 weeks...31.5 weeks really....time has really flown by! Exactly 2 months from today is our due date (though I will not be holding my breath on that day), and we can not wait to meet our new family member.All continues to go well. Baby D is sure to be #1 in our infant yoga class with all the movement that is happenin' in Momma's belly, but we get a kick out of watching those belly waves. We see the doctor again in another 2 weeks, and then our appointments will start to get closer together. Baby D will be delivered at St. Joeseph's Hospital in downtown Denver, and we will be setting up an official hospital tour there very soon to get the lay of the land. We will also be starting our natural childbirth class at the beginning of February. We're looking forward to learning lots and meeting other like minded parents-to-be.
To help us to achieve a safe and positive birth experience, we have found a wonderful woman named Jessica to assist us in the birthing process. Jessica is a Labor Doula, and her role is to provide both Mom and Dad with the emotional, information, and physical support we need before during and after labor. At St. Joe's we have a 1 in 25 chance that our doctor will be there to deliver us, but Jessica who is familiar with our pregnancy history and birth plan, will be there regardless. She will help us to focus on a more holistic approach, even though we are in a western-medicine-favored location. We are so glad to have found her!
Our Denver baby Shower takes place 2 weeks from now, and we are looking forward to sharing more celebration time with friends. Thanks to Tabitha and Nancy for all the work that you're putting into it! Be sure to check back for photos of the shower at the end of January!
